IGP Disburses N2bn Insurance to Families of Deceased Officers

On a recent occasion, the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, announced the disbursement of over N2 billion in life insurance benefits to 1,075 next-of-kin of deceased officers as part of the Nigeria Police Force's family welfare scheme. The total sum disbursed amounts to N2,435,421,584.11, covering multiple years, including 2018, 2019, 2025, and 2026, and includes the recovery of long-outstanding insurance obligations.

Disu described this gesture as a demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families. The ceremony was marked by solemn recognition of the courage and sacrifice of the officers who served the nation.

Disu assured beneficiaries that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to supporting families left behind and emphasized the importance of ensuring that the sacrifices of its personnel are not forgotten. He reiterated efforts to strengthen the welfare framework and eliminate delays in benefit delivery.
