IGP Disu Enhances Collaboration with NAPTIP Against Trafficking

On April 21, 2026, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu met with Binta Adamu Bello, the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja. The meeting focused on improving cooperation between the Nigeria Police Force and NAPTIP, particularly in intelligence sharing and joint operations to combat human trafficking and organized crime.

Disu committed to deploying police support for NAPTIP's intelligence-led strategies aimed at dismantling criminal networks involved in human trafficking. He noted that specialized units, including the intelligence response team and the cybercrime unit, would provide technical assistance and training programs to enhance NAPTIP's operational capabilities.

Both agencies agreed to maintain regular engagement to monitor progress and strengthen efforts against organized crime related to human trafficking across Nigeria.
