IGP Disu Partners with NPTF for Police Reforms

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu has partnered with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) to advance ongoing reforms aimed at sharpening the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). During a courtesy visit from NPTF's Executive Secretary Alhaji Moham Sheidu and board members to the police headquarters in Abuja, a strategic dialogue platform was opened to deepen collaboration.

Alhaji Sheidu assured that the NPTF is committed to supporting the NPF through need-driven interventions across personnel welfare, training, and operational capacity. The NPTF has delivered 100 training programs for 13,000 officers and initiated 170 infrastructural projects nationwide, including housing and healthcare facilities.

IGP Disu emphasized that personnel welfare is a non-negotiable priority, particularly for junior rank officers who bear the heaviest operational burdens. He called for targeted welfare programs to ensure structural support for these officers, reaffirming the commitment to a technology-driven, citizen-focused police force.
