IGP Disu Summons Lagos Officers Over Viral Video Incident

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Disu, has summoned officers from Lagos who were featured in a widely circulated stop-and-search video for a disciplinary review. This action comes after public outrage regarding the conduct of the officers during a roadside operation, where they stopped vehicles and searched occupants.

CSP Aliyu Giwa, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, stated that the IGP instructed the officers to report to the police headquarters in Abuja by Wednesday. Giwa emphasized the police's commitment to accountability and professionalism, urging officers to respect citizens' rights and exercise restraint while performing their duties.

He assured the public that the outcome of the disciplinary process would guide the next steps for the force, reaffirming their commitment to justice and maintaining integrity within the police force.
