Kelechi Iheanacho Signs One-Year Deal with Celtic

Kelechi Iheanacho has joined Celtic on a one-year deal, leaving Sevilla as a free agent, with his contract set to expire on June 30. Celtic holds an option to extend the agreement for an additional 12 months.

The decision regarding his squad position for the next season is expected to be finalized by the club. Martin O'Neill, who has been appointed as the permanent manager, has shown faith in Iheanacho, who played a crucial role in the team's domestic success, including winning the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup.

Iheanacho scored nine goals and provided assists across competitions, with a notable performance including a late penalty against Motherwell and a match-winning goal against Hibernian. Despite limited starting opportunities, he has become a fan favorite, demonstrating his ability to influence matches.

Iheanacho has already begun specialized fitness work ahead of the pre-season, aiming for a regular starting role at Parkhead.
