Kelechi Iheanacho Joins Bursaspor After Celtic Exit

Kelechi Iheanacho has officially signed a three-year contract with Turkish club Bursaspor, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2029. Iheanacho, who joined Bursaspor as a free agent, turned down a fresh contract offer from Scottish champions Celtic, whose contract with him expired on June 30.

Celtic opted not to activate the automatic 12-month extension in his previous deal. The financial package presented by Bursaspor was significantly more attractive, prompting Iheanacho's decision.

The announcement of his signing was made on a Friday, accompanied by a themed video on the club's social media platforms. Iheanacho's move has garnered attention in both Turkey and Nigeria, especially given his connection to fellow Nigerian player Victor Osimhen, who plays for Galatasaray.

During the 2025-26 season, Iheanacho scored nine goals in 24 appearances for Celtic, contributing to their success in retaining the Scottish Premiership title and completing a domestic double.
