Ijaw Youth Coalition Supports Digital Reforms in Civil Service

The Coalition of Ijaw Youth (CJY) in the Niger Delta has called on Nigerians to support the ongoing digital transformation of the Federal Civil Service, emphasizing its significance as a major public sector reform. In a statement signed by National President Comrade Bedford Berefa Benjamin, the coalition praised the digitalization efforts led by Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

They highlighted the deployment of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) System, GovMail, and the 1-GOV Cloud Platform as pivotal in transitioning to a paperless Civil Service, enhancing service delivery, accountability, and reducing bureaucratic delays. The coalition noted that these reforms replace manual processes with secure digital platforms, promoting transparency and faster decision-making.

They urged the federal government to expedite the rollout of these initiatives, asserting that a fully integrated digital public service would restore public confidence in government institutions.
