Ikon Allah Academy to Host Abuja Football Scouting Event

Ikon Allah Football Academy, a grassroots football development centre based in Kaduna, is set to host a talent-discovery tournament in Abuja from November 11 to 16. The academy's president, Ayi Mohammed, announced this initiative during an interview with sports journalists in Kaduna.

The tournament aims to provide promising young players an opportunity to showcase their skills to international scouts and club representatives, thereby creating pathways to professional football. Mohammed noted that the academy has previously organized similar competitions four times a year and has established relationships with international football stakeholders.

The event follows the success of Nigerian teenager Zadok Yohanna, who progressed from the academy to Swedish club AIK and then to Brighton & Hove Albion in the English Premier League. Mohammed expressed confidence in the academy's ability to produce more players of Yohanna's caliber, stating that over 50 players have secured opportunities in Europe through the academy's scouting activities.
