Ikoyi Club 1938 to Host 29th Nigeria Cup Golf Championship

The 29th edition of the Nigeria Cup Golf Championship will take place at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos from September 19 to 27, 2026. This championship, the longest-running Independence Celebration Golf Championship in Nigeria, is organized by the Ikoyi Golf Community Nigeria Association in collaboration with Ikoyi Club 1938.

Olorogun Mohammed Oyibo, Chairman of the Organising Committee, described the upcoming edition as a landmark event, emphasizing the importance of preserving the tournament's heritage while enhancing competition, organization, and hospitality standards. Oyibo encouraged corporate organizations and individuals to support the tournament, viewing sponsorship as a chance to connect with a legacy that transcends the golf course.

The organizing committee is focused on various aspects, including competition, sponsorship, hospitality, media, branding, logistics, and participant services. The 2026 edition will also feature a Championship Watch Party and a Sunday evening Legacy Gala, aimed at enriching the overall championship experience.
