George Ilenikhena Shines with Goals for Al-Ittihad
George Ilenikhena scored in back-to-back games for Al-Ittihad, continuing his strong form in the Saudi Pro League. He netted the opener in the 30th minute during Al-Ittihad’s 2-0 victory over Al-Diriyah at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
This goal followed his performance three days prior, where he scored and assisted in a 4-1 win against Al-Ettifaq. Ilenikhena capitalized on a rebound after a shot from teammate Rios was parried by the goalkeeper, with the goal confirmed after a VAR review.
Georginio Wijnaldum added a penalty in the 77th minute. The victory brought Al-Ittihad to 21 points, placing them fourth in the league standings.
Ilenikhena was named Man of the Match against Al-Ettifaq, playing 73 minutes before being substituted for Youssef En-Nesyri, who scored twice. Ilenikhena has eight goals and three assists in eight starts this season, totaling 11 goal contributions in those matches.
