Political Blame Game Follows Ilobu Teen's Tragic Death

The tragic killing of 14-year-old Ezekiel Olapad in Ilobu, Osun State, has intensified political tensions as the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Ademola Adeleke's campaign council exchange accusations. Olapad was reportedly killed during a shooting incident near the Irepodun Local Government secretariat.

Kola Olabisi, APC's Director of Media, criticized Governor Adeleke for allegedly using the tragedy for political gain instead of solely mourning the loss. He argued that the governor's comments were inappropriate and questioned the police investigation's integrity.

In response, the Imol Campaign Council, represented by spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi, dismissed the APC's claims, expressing concern over rising political violence in Osun State and urging political actors to exercise restraint. Olajengbesi emphasized the need for security agencies to ensure equal protection for all citizens, regardless of political affiliation, and warned against selective law enforcement.

The incident has raised significant concerns about the safety of citizens amid escalating political violence in the region.
