APC and TICC Demand Justice for Ilobu Teenager's Killing

Ezekiel Olapad, a 14-year-old boy, was shot dead on June 21 in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area, Osun State, while attempting to rescue his mother during a violent attack. This incident has raised significant concerns regarding political violence in the state, especially with the upcoming governorship elections on August 15.

The TICC's Director General, Kamarudeen Olaler Oyewumi, condemned the killing, describing it as evidence of the dangers posed by political assassins undermining peace and security in Osun State. He urged the Osun State Police Command to identify and arrest the gang responsible for the attack, allegedly led by Saheed Kareem, known as Tanfeani.

The APC also condemned the killing, labeling it barbaric and demanding a thorough investigation. They emphasized that violence is not part of their ideology and called on individuals to refrain from using political platforms to perpetrate violence.

The APC's governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, reiterated the party's commitment to peace.
