Ilorin Central Mosque, UNILORIN Plan 250-bed Hostel

The Ilorin Central Juma Mosque and the University of Ilorin have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to construct a 250-bed hostel on the university's main campus. The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Wahab Egbewole SAN, and the Chairman of the Central Working Committee of the mosque, Alhaji Shehu AbdulGafar, signed the MoU.

Egbewole expressed gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing that the project would be well-maintained and used for its intended purpose. AbdulGafar highlighted the significance of the project, stating that the income generated from the hostel would be used to maintain the mosque.

The legal adviser of the mosque, Yusuf Ali SAN, described the project as a humanitarian gesture that would provide comfort to students and address the persistent shortage of campus accommodation in Nigeria. This collaboration aims to ease the accommodation challenges facing students at the university.
