Iyabo Obasanjo Confident in APC Governorship Bid for Ogun

Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has declared her intention to contest for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State for the 2027 elections. In a radio interview on Eagl 102.5 FM in Ilesa, she expressed confidence in her ability to secure the ticket, highlighting her recent registration as a member of the APC in Ibogun Ward 11, Ifo Local Government.

This marks her return to active politics after a 15-year hiatus following her unsuccessful bid for the Senate in 2011. Obasanjo aims to bridge the governance gap in Ogun State and improve the lives of its citizens.

She raised concerns about the lack of governors from the Ogun West region since the state's creation 50 years ago and emphasized the importance of power rotation. Despite acknowledging challenges such as time and funding, she remains optimistic about her candidacy and the support she has received from the people.
