Iyabo Obasanjo Declares Intent to Run for Ogun Governorship in 2027

Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, has officially announced her candidacy for the governorship race in Ogun State in 2027. She made her declaration during an interview with Nigerian sports legend Segun Odegbami on 103.7FM Eagle Sport Monitor in Abeokuta.

Obasanjo emphasized her commitment to the race, stating that she is not considering other political positions like the Senate. She clarified that she is focused on the governorship journey and is dedicated to the cause.

Obasanjo confirmed her decision to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and expressed her readiness to face the political challenges ahead. She highlighted the importance of unity and support from various groups to achieve success in her gubernatorial bid.
