Delta Aide Defends Remi Tinubu's Akara Business Advice

Ossai Ovi Success, a media aide to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, publicly expressed disappointment regarding the backlash faced by Remi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, following her advice to unemployed women. In a viral video, Remi Tinubu suggested that women could alleviate unemployment by starting small-scale businesses selling bean cakes, known as akara, and roasting corn.

This advice was met with criticism from Nigerians who lamented the lack of substantial job creation initiatives in the country. Ovi Success defended the akara business, stating it could be more lucrative than traditional bank jobs, citing potential earnings of N10,000 daily or N240,000 monthly.

He emphasized that the akara business should not be looked down upon, arguing that it could provide better financial returns than many conventional jobs, especially in a challenging economic environment.
