Egbetokun Welcomes Tunji Disu as New Police Chief

Former Inspector General of Police, Egbetokun, spoke positively about Tunji Disu's appointment as his successor during a handover ceremony held on Wednesday at the State House in Abuja. Egbetokun expressed satisfaction with Disu taking over the role of the country’s police chief.

He noted Disu's close involvement in key police operations, including intelligence coordination and inter-agency deployment aimed at dismantling criminal networks and strengthening response mechanisms. Egbetokun emphasized Disu's significant roles, including serving as Principal Staff Officer to the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and as Assistant Inspector General in charge of the Special Protection Unit.

He described their relationship as unique, highlighting the benefits of mentorship from Bola Tinubu when he was the Governor of Lagos State. Egbetokun believes that Disu is well-prepared to continue the work and is a fitting choice for the position.
