Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy and one-half of the defunct Nigerian Afrobeats duo P-Square, has publicly distanced himself from his twin brother Peter Okoye's controversial statement, “Who Naija language help? Make I hear word abeg,” made on X.

This comment arose when a fan inquired about Peter's children's fluency in Igbo after he shared a post about watching them speak French in Paris. The remark drew significant backlash on social media, with critics highlighting the irony of Peter's statement given his incorporation of Nigerian languages into his music and the commercial success derived from it.

In response to the controversy, Rudeboy emphasized his identity and connection to Nigerian culture, stating, “I’m a ‘nobody’, I repeat!! A nobody!!, without the culture, native language. 100% proudly Nigerian. 100% proudly Igbo.” His comments reflect a strong commitment to his heritage amidst the ongoing discussion about the importance of Nigerian languages.
