El-Rufai Declares He Won't Run for President in 2027

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, stated during an interview with Arise TV on Friday that he is not currently running for president in the 2027 general elections. He emphasized that he has not made a personal decision to contest for the nation's top office at this moment.

El-Rufai noted the unpredictability of politics, acknowledging that circumstances could change, and party leaders might eventually call on him to step forward. He expressed his intention to pursue doctoral studies abroad, specifically a PhD in Egypt, while remaining in Nigeria to contribute to addressing national issues within the current administration.

El-Rufai described the current state of the country as challenging and called for efforts to improve governance and national development.
