Osun Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Joins PDP for 2027 Election

Olubiyi Fadeyi, the senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has officially left the All Progressives Congress (APC) and rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), supported by Nyesom Wike. Fadeyi announced his return during a telephone interview, confirming his candidacy for the 2027 Senate election.

He previously left the PDP in July 2025 alongside four other National Assembly members. Fadeyi lost the APC ticket for the upcoming election to Adekunle Adegoke (SAN).

In his resignation letter to the Senate, he expressed disappointment over the APC's primary process, which he claimed lacked transparency and did not adhere to agreed-upon consensus methods. He emphasized that his departure was not against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu but was based on the need for democratic principles and mutual respect within the party.

Fadeyi's concerns also included the APC's decision to grant return tickets to other colleagues who defected with him while denying him the 2027 ticket.
