Sokoto State Government Launches Immunization Campaign for 2.8 Million Children

Sokoto State Government in Nigeria has launched an immunization campaign targeting 2.8 million children. The campaign aims to vaccinate children against polio, measles, rubella, and Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto emphasized the importance of immunization to prevent the spread of preventable childhood diseases. The state is mobilizing community leaders, religious figures, and development partners to ensure the success of the campaign.

The Governor warned of the serious complications that could arise from not vaccinating children. The State Commissioner of Health, Faruk Umar Abubakar Wurno, announced the vaccination team's deployment to cover all 244 wards in the state.
