South-east Leaders Endorse Agbaso for Imo Governorship

South-east leaders and stakeholders endorsed Chief Martin Agbaso's governorship ambition for the 2027 Imo State governorship election at the South-east Leaders and Stakeholders’ Forum in Abuja. Agbaso, a businessman and financial analyst, initially contemplated withdrawing from politics to focus on his businesses and family.

However, he was persuaded to reconsider by appeals from political associates. He emphasized that his return to politics is motivated by a desire to contribute to Imo State's development rather than personal ambition.

Agbaso plans to formally declare his candidacy before the end of the year, promising an administration guided by integrity, accountability, and prudent resource management. Chief Nnaemeka Maduagwu, a former member of the House of Representatives, urged the South-east to adopt a new political strategy focused on justice, equity, and development, endorsing Agbaso as a capable leader for the region.
