Imo Governor Oziri Resolves Leadership Dispute in Umuderim

This action follows rising tensions after the death of the traditional ruler in 2023, which created a leadership vacuum and led to contestations over the succession process.

Allegations have surfaced regarding the legitimacy of the current president, Chief Geoffrei Iwuagwu, who claims to have been elected for a second term without a valid election process. Governor Oziri has invited opposing factions to the Ahiajoku Civic Centre to ensure a balanced hearing and has suspended community activities during the mourning period for the late traditional ruler.

The governor emphasized the need for due process and has granted separate audiences to the parties involved to review submissions.
