Imo Police Deny Abduction Reports of Students in Owerri

The Imo State Police Command has officially debunked reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged abduction of students from a government secondary school in Owerri. Police spokesperson Henri Okoy stated that the claims were entirely false and misleading, urging the public to disregard them.

Upon receiving the report, Commissioner of Police Audu Garba Bosso directed Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdullahi Wase to verify the claims. ACP Wase visited the school and confirmed with Principal Mr.

Amadi Apolonia, staff, and students that no abduction had occurred. The police assured that all students and staff are safe, and academic activities at the school continue without disruption.

Okoy further clarified that the school was purely administrative and not connected to any security threat. The police warned against the spread of unverified information, which could cause unnecessary panic, and reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of students and educational institutions across the state.
