Oyo Police Denies Rumors of Release of Abducted Victims

The Oyo State Police Command issued a statement on Thursday, categorically denying rumors circulating on social media about the release of pupils and teachers abducted from the Ahoro Esiel Yawota Community in Oriir Local Government Area on May 15. The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the state command, DSP Ayanlad Olayinka, described the trending rumors as completely fabricated and misleading.

He stated that there has been no development regarding the release of the victims and advised the public to disregard the false reports. The police assured the community that joint security operations are ongoing to track down the kidnappers and ensure the safe return of the victims.

The command emphasized the importance of not spreading unverifiable information during such a security crisis, warning that it could jeopardize ongoing investigations.
