Oyo Chief Whip Accuses Olubadan, Ajimobi of Inducement

Oyo Chief Whip Gbenga Oyekola has publicly accused Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja, and former First Lady of Oyo State, Florence Ajimobi, of attempting to induce Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde. Oyekola made these claims in a detailed statement issued on Tuesday, clarifying his stance on the alleged impeachment plot.

He distanced himself from reports of a conspiracy against the governor, stating that he discovered a critical meeting involving individuals allegedly working to undermine the governor. Oyekola explained that the Speaker had previously been invited by Olubadan to seek support for his 2027 gubernatorial ambitions, during which Olubadan allegedly offered to facilitate House representation tickets for the APC in exchange for financial backing.

The Speaker reportedly declined the offer. Oyekola further revealed that the Speaker was approached by Florence Ajimobi regarding similar inducements, which he also refused.
