Oyo Assembly Backs Governor Makinde Amid Impeachment Rumors

On Wednesday, the Oyo State House of Assembly passed a unanimous vote of confidence in Governor Seyi Makinde and Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin. This resolution followed a plenary session in Ibadan, where lawmakers reaffirmed their support for the executive and legislative arms of government.

Major leader Sanjo Adedoyin described the allegations of an impeachment plot as unfounded rumors intended to distract from political motivations. The lawmakers also dismissed any speculation linking Governor Makinde to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, regarding an alleged plot against the House.

Deputy Speaker Moham Fadeyi emphasized the unity of the assembly and commended Makinde's administration for its performance, highlighting achievements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Chief Whip Gbenga Oyekola warned against the spread of false claims and reiterated that the House would not be influenced by external forces, reaffirming their backing for both Makinde and Ogundoyin.
