Oyo Assembly Supports Governor Makinde Amid Impeachment Rumors

On Wednesday, during a plenary session in Ibadan, the Oyo State House of Assembly unanimously passed a confidence vote in Governor Seyi Makinde, countering unfounded rumors of an impeachment plot against him. Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin described the allegations as baseless and politically motivated distractions.

The motion to support the governor was moved by Sanjo Adedoyin, representing Ogbomoso South, who emphasized the need for unity within the assembly. Chief Whip Gbenga Oyekola distanced the assembly from any discussions regarding impeachment, labeling the rumors as an evil plot aimed at destabilizing the state.

The assembly members commended Makinde's leadership, particularly highlighting achievements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Deputy Speaker Moham Fadeyi seconded the motion, reinforcing the assembly's commitment to supporting the governor and ensuring stability in Oyo State.
