Oyo Leaders Deny Allegations of Impeachment Plot Against Makinde

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, along with former First Lady Florence Ajimobi and traditional ruler Rashidi Ladoja, responded to allegations regarding a supposed plot to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde. Ogundoyin confirmed that he had been approached with monetary inducements linked to the APC but rejected these claims, labeling them as false and politically motivated.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Makinde and dismissed any notion of receiving funds for an impeachment attempt. Florence Ajimobi described the allegations as baseless and politically driven, asserting she neither attended nor participated in any meetings concerning the impeachment.

Ladoja also cautioned political figures in Oyo State against dragging traditional rulers into political disputes, emphasizing that they lack the power to impeach the governor. Adeola Oloko, the media aide to Ladoja, reiterated that the rumors were unfounded and warned against spreading misinformation.
