Tinubu's Administration Neutralizes Over 8,000 Terrorists

An IMPI report indicates that over 8,000 terrorists have been neutralized under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration since 2023. The report highlights notable tactical successes in the fight against terrorism, with the Nigerian Army leading military offensives that resulted in the arrest of 11,600 criminals and the recovery of thousands of weapons.

Key operations included a June 6, 2026, mission that rescued 360 kidnapping victims from a heavily fortified terrorist enclave in Borno State. Additional operations in Kogi State and Kwara State also led to the rescue of victims and the pursuit of fleeing terrorists.

The report emphasizes that the Tinubu administration's counter-terrorism efforts have shifted strategies, deploying military intelligence and covert tactics to address kidnapping and banditry. The administration has invested in military hardware, including advanced fighter jets and helicopters, to enhance operational capabilities.
