Nigerian Leaders Urge Peace and Unity in Easter Messages

In their Easter messages, prominent Nigerian leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, called for prayers for enduring peace in Nigeria. They highlighted the significance of the Easter season as a time for reflection, selflessness, and renewal of hope.

Atiku Abubakar urged Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ and to show genuine love and compassion. Akpabio emphasized the federal government's commitment to addressing insecurity and fostering coexistence among Nigerians, regardless of faith or ethnicity.

Other governors, including Alhaji Umaru Bago of Niger State and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, echoed similar sentiments, urging citizens to remain steadfast in their faith and to work towards national unity. The messages collectively called for a commitment to peace and mutual respect, especially in light of the upcoming 2027 elections.
