Tinubu Approves Ajaokuta Free Trade Zone for Investment

President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of the Ajaokuta Free Trade Zone, a significant step towards revitalizing Nigeria's industrial sector, particularly in Kogi State. Governor Usman Ododo received the official certificate from Dr.

Olufemi Ogunyemi, the Managing Director of the Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA), which will facilitate the development of the 4,000-hectare industrial city. Ododo described this development as a historical turning point for the state and the country's industrial drive.

The free trade zone is expected to leverage Kogi's strategic location and abundant mineral resources, with the potential to attract both local and foreign investors. The governor highlighted the importance of the zone in transforming the economy and mentioned plans to build an international airport to support the economic zone.

The issuance of the license marks the beginning of a long journey towards establishing a successful multi-sector economic city, with NEPZA's support ensuring compliance with global standards.
