IGP Disu Orders Enhanced Rescue Operations in Niger State

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has mandated the Niger State Police Command to intensify rescue operations for worshippers abducted during terrorist attacks in the Dekara District of Borgu Local Government Area. Disu, on a working visit to assess the security situation, highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination and community engagement for effective intelligence gathering.

He expressed condolences to the Government and people of Niger State, assuring them that the safe recovery of the abducted individuals and the arrest of the attackers are priorities. Disu commended CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman for the timely response and situation reports.

During his visit, he met with Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba and the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Dr Umar Farouk Bahago, to strengthen collaboration with traditional institutions. The IGP reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to safeguarding communities and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
