ADC's Abdullahi: Atiku Can Win 2027 Without Coalition

Bolaji Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), asserted that the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, does not require the backing of an opposition coalition to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Abdullahi expressed confidence that the ADC could win without coalition support, although he acknowledged that such support could ease the process.

He stated, “We are going to win. We don’t need a coalition to win this election.” Abdullahi also indicated that many Nigerians are inclined to vote against Tinubu due to their negative experiences under his administration.

While maintaining that the ADC is open to discussions with other opposition parties, he clarified that these conversations are not primarily focused on producing a single presidential candidate but rather on areas of cooperation, such as election monitoring. Additionally, Abdullahi affirmed Atiku's intention to restore the fuel subsidy and challenged the APC to a public debate on the matter.
