Nigerian Navy Recovers 1,600 Liters of Illegal Oil

The Nigerian Navy, under the command of Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, conducted an operation in Orashi Forest, River State, recovering approximately 1,600 liters of illegal refined petroleum products. This operation was part of the Navy's ongoing efforts to combat crude oil theft and economic sabotage in the Niger Delta.

The operation was initiated following credible intelligence regarding the concealment of illegal refined petroleum products in the area. Personnel from the Nigerian Navy ship NN Soroh executed the operation, which involved aerial surveillance using unmanned systems to identify and exploit the location of the illegal products.

The Navy discovered 16 sacks containing around 100 liters each of the suspected illegal refined petroleum products. Although the suspects fled the scene upon sighting naval personnel, no arrests were made during the operation.

Captain Folorunsho reaffirmed the Navy's commitment to dismantling illegal refining networks and ensuring that criminals involved in crude oil theft have no safe haven in Nigeria's maritime domain.
