ADC South-South Rejects Amaechi's Presidential Endorsement

The South-South zonal leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) publicly disowned the endorsement of former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi for the presidential bid, labeling the claims made by John Odigi Oyegun, the national chairman of the party, as misleading. Mabel Oboh, the zonal public secretary, issued a statement on Saturday, asserting that the report was undemocratic and a troubling example of distorted political reality.

Oboh emphasized that no consensus was reached during a meeting held at Oyegun's residence in Benin, which was organized to strengthen internal cohesion and deepen grassroots mobilization for future electoral contests. She further criticized Oyegun's political history, suggesting that his claims of endorsement were particularly implausible.

The ADC leadership's stance reflects a commitment to proper consultation within the geopolitical zone and a rejection of any unilateral decisions regarding party endorsements.
