CIIN President Akinjide Orimolad Unveils New Agenda

Mr. Akinjide Orimolad, the incoming President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), presented a three-pillar agenda designed to transform the institute and the insurance industry in Nigeria during a pre-investiture press conference organized in Lagos.

The agenda will guide his administration throughout his tenure as the 53rd president of the institute. The three pillars include enhancing technology, enforcing compulsory insurance, and building people’s capacity through strategic partnerships.

Orimolad emphasized the need for the institute to embrace digital innovations to improve examination processes and member engagement, leveraging data for informed decision-making. He acknowledged the challenges of low compliance with existing compulsory insurance laws in Nigeria and pledged to intensify advocacy and public enlightenment on the importance of compulsory insurance.

The agenda aims to strengthen the institute's relevance and visibility in the insurance profession while continuing to invest in professional development and infrastructure, ensuring that the institute remains a leading body in Africa's insurance sector.
