Ndume Praises Tinubu for Army Division Increase

On Saturday, Senator Ali Ndume commended President Bola Tinubu for the decision to increase the number of divisions in the Nigerian Army from eight to twelve and for the recruitment of 28,000 additional personnel. This initiative, announced on Thursday, aims to strengthen Nigeria's security architecture and improve military coordination and response times.

Ndume suggested that each new division should have a Special Task Force Brigade equipped with Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected vehicles, Armoured Personnel Carriers, and at least five attack helicopters in each of the six geo-political zones. He emphasized the importance of enhancing military personnel's remuneration, stating that their basic salary should not be less than $300 naira equivalent.

Ndume also praised the Nigerian Army and security agencies for their ongoing efforts against insurgents, particularly highlighting the recent successes of the Operation Hadin Kai Theatre and the 82 Task Force Brigade in Gwoza.
