Babachir Lawal Mocks Atiku's ADC Suspension as Court Acts

Babachir Lawal, the Vice Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the North East, ridiculed the suspension of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar by a faction of the ADC, describing it as a baseless move. Lawal questioned the credibility of the faction's leadership and claimed that the suspension was merely a ploy by the faction's chairman in Adamawa State, Yohanna.

He asserted that Yohanna is no longer a member of the ADC. In a related legal development, the Adamawa State High Court, presided over by Justice Ahm Isa, issued an order on Thursday to halt the congress exercise pending the resolution of a lawsuit filed against the state chairman, Yohanna, by Sadiq Dasin.

The court case has been adjourned to April 15, 2026, for further hearing.
