Mining Company Seeks EFCC Investigation Over Arrests

Glister Success Limit Mine Company has formally requested the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the Ilorin zonal office due to allegations of indiscriminate arrests and unlawful detention of its employees. In a letter from the law firm of Biodun Abdu Raheem & Co., the company claims that on March 20, 2024, EFCC officials seized its truck containing marble rock without legal justification and detained an employee for four weeks, violating constitutional rights as per Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Despite having valid licenses and evidence of compliance with regulatory requirements, the EFCC officials allegedly refused to release the truck and continued to harass the company. The letter also mentions that the EFCC officials returned to seize goods again on November 28, 2025, despite the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development confirming the legality of the company's operations.

The firm urges the EFCC's executive chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, to treat this complaint with urgency to protect the company's rights.
