Mining Firm Petitions EFCC Over Truck Seizure and Arrests

Glister Success Limited, represented by its chairman Ola Olukoyede, has filed a petition with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) concerning the unlawful seizure of its truck and the arrest of its employees. The petition, dated March 5, 2026, alleges that the EFCC's Ilorin zonal office unlawfully seized the company's truck carrying marble products on March 20, 2024, and detained its employees without legal justification.

The company asserts that it presented valid operational licenses and proof of payment of relevant government dues, yet the EFCC refused to release the vehicle and held the workers in custody for four weeks following a court order. The petition highlights a similar incident from November 28, 2025, and expresses concerns about ongoing harassment and intimidation of the company's staff.

Glister Success Limited maintains compliance with the Nigerian Mining Act since 1997 and urges the EFCC chairman to investigate the actions of the Ilorin zonal office. Efforts to obtain comments from EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale were unsuccessful.
