Indorama and Nigerian Breweries Launch Major Recycling Plant

Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited and Nigerian Breweries PLC, alongside Genesi Power Energy Solutions Ltd, have formed a strategic partnership to establish one of Africa's largest state-of-the-art recycling facilities in Lagos, Nigeria. This facility aims to produce 45,000 tons of food-grade recycled PET resin annually, with operations expected to commence in the first half of 2027.

The partnership represents a significant investment in developing recycling capabilities that will convert post-consumer PET bottles into high-quality recycled materials for packaging applications. This initiative is designed to meet the rising demand for recycled content, reduce plastic waste, and create local value through improved collection systems and job creation.

Yash Lohia, Executive President and Chairman of the ESG Council at Indorama Ventures, highlighted the partnership as a milestone in the global recycling journey, emphasizing the company's commitment to sustainable solutions and the development of a resilient packaging system in Nigeria.
