TechnoServe and Coca-Cola Foundation Launch PReP 2.0

TechnoServe and the Coca-Cola Foundation have launched PReP 2.0, a new phase of their plastic recycling program in Nigeria, aimed at scaling efforts to develop an inclusive recycling system and strengthen livelihoods. This initiative follows the successful first phase, which transformed the recycling landscape in Lagos and Anambra by diverting 59,000 metric tons of plastic waste and improving the livelihoods of 10,000 individuals.

The new phase will expand operations to Kano State and aims to create an additional 2,400 jobs while diverting 32,000 metric tons of plastic waste. The program will provide equipment, training, and capital support, particularly focusing on empowering women and youth-led enterprises.

Carlo Pagoaga, President of the Coca-Cola Foundation, emphasized the initiative's commitment to reducing plastic waste and supporting community livelihoods. PReP 2.0 is designed as a model for public-private partnerships, addressing economic challenges while promoting environmental sustainability.
