INEC: 69,376 Nigerians Pre-registered Online in Seven Hours as CVR Hits It Off

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported that 69,376 Nigerians pre-registered online within seven hours as the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) began on Monday. INEC's National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, stated that the online voter registration portal went live, with both male and female individuals of various ages participating.

The CVR is set to officially commence registration at physical locations on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 811 State and Local Government offices nationwide. Olumekun emphasized that online and in-person registration options will run simultaneously throughout the duration of the CVR.

INEC highlighted that voter registration is open to Nigerian citizens aged 18 and above, with strict regulations against multiple registrations.
