INEC Adjusts Campaign Timetable for 2026 Osun Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced an adjustment to the campaign timetable for the 2026 Osun Governorship Election. According to a statement released on Thursday, the commission clarified that political parties must conclude their campaigns 24 hours prior to the election day, in accordance with Section 98(1) of the Electoral Act 2026.

The election date has been moved forward by one week to August 15, 2026, from its previous schedule. This adjustment is also based on the revised timetable for activities leading up to the 2027 general elections.

INEC has urged all political parties and candidates to strictly adhere to the revised timeline as outlined in the statement.
