INEC Clarifies Court Order on Prof Yakubu; Hosts Ethiopian Delegation at TEI

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) addressed rumors of a court-ordered arrest of Prof Mahmood Yakubu for allegedly misleading reports. The Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State, had reportedly ordered the arrest and imprisonment of Prof Yakubu for failing to comply with a court judgment to relist a political party, AA, on INEC's website.

INEC, through a statement signed by Sam Olumekun, clarified that they had complied with the court's order by recognizing AA as an executive party. Additionally, INEC hosted a delegation from the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia at the Electoral Institute (TEI) to promote mutual learning and strengthen democratic practices.
