INEC Committed Ballot Apartheid And Franchise Robbery In Excluding Our Candidates From August 16 by-elections – Labour Party

The Labour Party's Interim National Working Committee (INWC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of committing "ballot apartheid and franchise robbery" by excluding their candidates from the August 16 by-elections. The INWC stated that INEC's actions were in direct disobedience of a Supreme Court order that recognized the fresh leadership of the party under Senator Esther Nenadi.

The party also accused a faction led by Julius Abure of conniving with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to deny the Labour Party representation on the ballot. The INWC emphasized that the Supreme Court had unequivocally recognized Senator Nenadi as the authentic leader of the party.

The party expressed disappointment in the denial of a Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Supreme Court judgment, which affirmed Senator Nenadi and Senator Darlington Nwokocha as the leaders of the Labour Party. The party vowed to continue efforts to ensure they are not disenfranchised in.
