Oyebanji Secures Ekiti Governorship Win Across Multiple LGAs

Governor Biodun Oyebanji has prevailed in the Ekiti State governorship election across multiple local government areas whose results have been announced. Four constituencies—Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti Southwest, Ido Osi, and Ekiti West—have tallied their votes, collectively showing Oyebanji's commanding lead.

Combined, these four areas yielded more than 98,000 votes supporting his candidacy. The largest reported constituency is Ado-Ekiti LGA, where Oyebanji amassed 38,026 votes, surpassing his nearest competitor by nearly tenfold.

Dr. Wole Oluyede from the People's Democratic Party secured just 3,817 votes there.

Ekiti Southwest saw comparable strength: Oyebanji polled 14,705 votes compared to Oluyede's 1,800. Similar patterns emerged in Ido Osi, where Oyebanji accumulated 17,901 votes whilst Oluyede gathered 1,449.

Party affiliation discrepancies surface in available documentation concerning Oyebanji's political banner. The All Progressives Congress is cited in most accounts as his party; one source, however, attributes him to the People's Democratic Party during the Ekiti West LGA race, which he decisively won with 28,258 votes to Oluyede's 3,644.

Throughout all announced constituencies, Ambassador Dare Bejid, representing the African Democratic Congress, consistently placed third, tallying between 561 and 1,076 votes across each local government. Conductors of the election reported that proceedings unfolded relatively smoothly, though select incidents depressed participation in certain areas.

Formal results from remaining local government divisions across Ekiti State have not yet been released by the election administration authority.
