INEC Declares Zamfara By-Election Inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the Zamfara by-election inconclusive after announcing the results at the Kasuwar Daji Collation Centre on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The All Progressives Congress (APC) polled a total of votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured votes, giving the APC a lead.

The breakdown of results from six wards showed the APC leading in four wards and the PDP in two. Despite the APC's lead, INEC cited irregularities and the need for a rerun in three polling units - two in Kyanbarawa Ward and one in Saka Jiki Ward.

The electoral body assured that a new date would be announced for a supplementary election to determine the eventual winner.
