INEC Delists David Mark's ADC NWC Over Court Order

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Wednesday that it has delisted the National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by David Mark, following a court order. This order, issued by the Court of Appeal on March 12, 2026, instructs the party to maintain the status quo until the substantive suit currently before the Federal High Court in Abuja is resolved.

The leadership dispute within the ADC involves factions loyal to Nafiu Bala Gomb and David Mark, who continues to assert control over the party's national leadership. INEC's statement clarified that it complied fully with the appellate court's directive to remove the names of the current NWC members, which were uploaded on September 9, 2025, pending the court's final decision.

Furthermore, INEC rejected a request from Bala's faction to recognize their actions as the national chairman, emphasizing its commitment to abide by judicial pronouncements and cautioning political stakeholders against actions that could disrupt preparations for the 2027 general elections.
